Dr. Julious “Jody” Smith, III, attended medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed an internship as well as an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Following his residency, Dr. Smith completed a fellowship at Mississippi Sports Medicine in Jackson, Mississippi, under the direction of former ORV fellow, Dr. Felix “Buddy” Savoie.
Dr. Smith is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Richmond Academy of Medicine and the Virginia Orthopaedic Society. He currently practices as an orthopaedic surgeon with OrthoVirginia and is the team physician for Hampden-Sydney College. Dr. Smith serves as an associate faculty member of ORV and his role includes supervision of the Fellows’ surgical and sports medicine experience.
