Dr. William R. Beach is a member of the Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy Team at Tuckahoe Orthopaedics. He is also the President of Tuckahoe Orthopaedics. He received his medical degree from Ohio State University. After completing his internship and residency at Washington University School of Medicine, he was awarded a Fellowship in Arthroscopy & Sports Medicine at Orthopaedic Research of Virginia in Richmond.
Dr. Beach and his medical staff primarily treat patients with knee, elbow, and shoulder injuries. His patients range in age from the younger athlete with traumatic sports injuries to the more mature patient with repetitive injuries. He also treats injured workers. Many injuries can be treated with rehabilitation and conservative therapies. When surgery is required, the majority of his patients will benefit from less invasive, arthroscopic surgery. The arthroscopic procedures that he most often performs are ACL reconstruction and meniscal surgery of the knee, as well as rotator cuff repairs and shoulder stabilizations.
Dr. Beach is actively involved with the Arthroscopy Association of North America and currently serves as 1st Vice President.
Dr. Beach grew up in Ohio…where he loved playing sports, especially football. In high school, he earned 10 varsity letters and was an All-State football player. He was later inducted into his high school’s Sports Hall of Fame. He continued to excel in football while attending college at Wittenberg University. He was a Kodak All-American his senior year and an Academic All-American his junior and senior years. He received a NCAA post-graduate scholarship for medical school. He was inducted into the Wittenberg Hall of Honor in 2004.
Dr. Beach understands the satisfaction of a game well-played and will do his best to get you back in action….whatever that sport or activity may be. A memory from his first football game at Wittenberg University….”As a college defensive back, I intercepted a pass on my very first play and ran it back for a 53 yard touchdown. I could not have been more excited. A once in a lifetime experience!”
Dr. Beach is married and has four children and one grandchild. He continues to stay active and enjoys playing golf in his free time.
